Unfolding
On February 15, 2023, as part of multidisciplinary artist Lydia Hasaia’s project Unfolding, a new installation by the artist opened at the Ria Keburia Residency.
The installation features white and black cubes, which, according to the gallery’s press release, “are inspired by the need to pause and feel, and an attempt to redefine feelings.
”The black cube serves as an exhibition space, where the viewer’s attention is distracted, while the white cube is directed towards introspection. The installation is accompanied by “sound and video art,” which adds a theatrical touch.
The Unfolding project, as the gallery’s press release informs us, “is based on the viewers’ transitory experience of the space in which they themselves find themselves.”
