Ukrainian artist Fedora Akimova’s solo exhibition speaks to us about war, sharing memories, loss of home, and collective experiences caused by death. The project consists of two parts, a solo exhibition and a Land Art installation, which you can see at the Ria Keburia Foundation.
In the gallery space, the artist creates triangular arches that embody the hastily dug graves of soldiers, the arches create the eerie pattern that such graves have and speak to us about death. In a small corridor, Fedora Akimova draws attention to the problem of post-traumatic memory. After experiencing a very severe and large-scale trauma, people are characterized by complete forgetting of specific memories or periods. The works exhibited in this hall are fragmented and scattered, the artist creates momentary flashes of memories that embody loss.
Fedora Akimova is an artist working in various media, her work includes installations, various objects and video art. She was born in Kiev in 1987, her work begins with graphic illustrations.
